Trump Term Two: Goals

Normal Americans have no problems getting along - even when they disagree. For that matter, normal Americans disagree with each other far less that Twitter or the MSM make it seem. This is because there are institutions that are fostering an extreme leftist agenda. These institutions are attempting to reshape America by deceiving as many Americans as possible and fostering hatred for the Americans they can't deceive.

These seditious institutions need to be reformed. When Trump gets re-elected, he needs to clean house on the following for the good of America:

1. The MSM. It is overwhelmingly biased to the point where they don't even try to deny it anymore. Every form of corruption is allowable - as long as Democrats are the culprit. The MSM has to be exposed as the leftist shills they are. The American people deserve an unbiased reporting of news, rather than socialist utopian wishes masquerading as news.
   
   
2. The Deep State. The Washington swamp needs to be drained. This includes anyone in either party whose goal is to benefit the politicians instead of Americans. The people who were involved in the unsuccessful coup to take down Trump by using a fake Russian dossier need to go to jail. All of them. That includes Obama, Biden, and Hillary. This is a scandal 10 times worse than Watergate and they're currently all getting a pass because the MSM and the Deep State will do everything they can to protect Democrats. As long as Democrats are allowed to use the power of government - the FBI, the CIA, the IRS, etc. - to target and punish their political foes, America isn't safe.
   
   
3. Big Tech. Again, overwhelmingly biased. Actively working against the First Amendment by censoring conservatives in a variety of ways. There was a day when the left championed the First Amendment. That day is long gone. (Aside: When the left championed the First Amendment, their goal was to spread as much pornography as possible. When the right champions the First Amendment, their goal is to protect political speech, religious speech, etc. This speaks volumes about the relative integrity of the two sides.)
   
   
4. Voter Fraud. Only the Republicans care about voter fraud because only the Democrats use it to cheat. There's a reason the Democrats scream like babies whenever measures are suggested to prevent voter fraud. And it's time black America realized that the party who says, "We can't have voter ID laws because minorities are too dumb to use ID" isn't their friend.
   
   
5. The Educational System. School choice is a must so that good teachers and good schools are rewarded. The teachers' unions only care about more power and money for teachers. They care nothing for the students. Also, our schools are increasingly spending their time, money, and efforts on socialist or Marxist indoctrination rather than, you know, teaching. The government should stop funding universities whose goal is to train students to think the United States is evil. One idea is to make university funding based on the employment rate of graduates. This will encourage universities to focus on useful programs instead of worthless ones.

There's more to do, but this would be a fantastic start. These institutions are undermining everything America is based on. They could all be wonderfully valuable. In fact, they have been in the past. But at the moment, they are a cancer on America.

Trump Term Two: Loving America

Create this ad:

Show video clips of various Dems berating America and end with: “We love America. They hate America. That’s all you need to know.”

(Someone can likely come up with a catchier slogan but you get the idea.)

Then run this ad all day every day until it’s part of the nation’s consciousness.

Trump Term Two: “I love immigrants!”

The first in a series of posts about tactics Trump could use to win re-election.

This tactic denies the Left the ability to lie by claiming Trump is a fascist.

Trump needs to present himself as the biggest friend LEGAL immigrants have and the biggest enemy ILLEGAL immigrants have. The Left has been deceitfully pretending there’s no difference between legal and illegal immigrants. Trump should deny them the ability to make this false claim.

He can simply say, “The Left claims I hate immigrants. They’re lying. I love immigrants! I married one! Thanks to me, America has an immigrant as the First Lady. The difference is that I love LEGAL immigrants. The Left loves ILLEGAL immigrants because the Left hates America and wants to stack the voting rolls in their favor.”

He can further make the case that illegal immigrants are the biggest enemy legal immigrants have and that by fighting illegal immigration, he is doing the best thing for legal immigrants. And there’s no shortage of legal immigrants who will back him up on this.

If he wants to go further, he can expand on how he stands for supporting immigrants who love America and who are the kind of upright people who want to follow the law.

Lots more could be said but the main point is that Trump should make it clear he loves legal. America-loving immigrants. Hammer this home enough and the Left’s lie that he’s a racist becomes transparent and powerless.

No "peace in our time" with Democrats

The Democrats are at war. They have been for decades. They will use any tactic against the right because it's war.

Republicans need to stop thinking that if they're just nice to Democrats, they can have peace. John McCain should have learned that when he ran for president. In the years leading up to his run, the Dems feigned peace with him because he could be trusted to vote their way on many occasions. But the moment he was the Republican nominee, all peace was abandoned and no attack was off limits.

Shockingly, even Trump needs to learn this. Leading up to the election, he talked about locking Hillary up for her various felonies. But when he won, he opted to be magnanimous and say she should be left alone. How did the Dems respond to his magnanimity? By relentlessly pushing to have HIM charged, impeached, etc.

If Trump had stayed the course, all the talk since November would have been about locking Hillary up for her (real) offences rather than attempting to discredit Trump for imaginary ones.

You can't have peace with Nazis or Democrats or any other fascists. You need to oppose them and their poisonous ideas relentlessly.

Typical hypocrisy

Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is essentially threatening terrorist attacks if Europe doesn't give him what he wants. “If you continue to behave like this, not a single European, not a single Westerner will be able to take a step on the road safely anytime in the world,” Erdoğan said at a press conference adding: “We as Turkey are calling on Europe to respect human rights and democracy.”

Several points:

1. Note the overwhelming hypocrisy of threatening terrorist attacks if Western Europe doesn't "respect human rights". Not only is that self-contradictory, but please tell me which Western European nation isn't light years ahead of Turkey in both human rights and democracy.

2. Note that even the president of Turkey takes it for granted that when Muslims don't get their own way, they resort to terrorism. And he clearly believes they have a right to do so. Erdoğan and his ilk have no idea how to work with civilized humans. "Give me MJ own way or ... terrorism!" And he assumes this is the norm for how Muslims behave.

3. The left in the west will ignore this, as always, thus emboldening this kind of behaviour and guaranteeing more terrorism.

4. Erdoğan is just proving that Trump is right about limiting Muslim immigration.

Trump to-do list

Trump has made a great start but here's what needs to get done:

1. Withdraw the US from the Paris climate treaty.

2. Kill the hysterical environmental regulations that are smothering US businesses and enriching the left.

3. Fire Obama's and Kerry's holdovers.

4. Pass a truly conservative repeal and replacement of Obamacare. Anything short of that will betray those who voted for him. Worse than that, it will fail (because liberal policies don't work) and now it will be the Republicans who bear the blame for it.

5. Kill the Iran deal.

Nevertrumpers - I get it, but...

I understand being unhappy about the times Trump has been crude.

I understand he's not the completely principled conservative we would love to have.

But he's the President and he is intent upon implementing more conservative policies than any president since Reagan. For the first time in memory, we have a Republican taking on the corrupt, leftist MSM and making headway. He wants to roll back government and dismantle the administrative state more than any successful Republican in decades.

So I don't understand the behaviour of Nevertrumpers. Or, worse, I understand them all too well.

It increasingly seems to me that the Nevertrumpers had some legitimate concerns about Trump and mixed in a bunch of concerns that proved to be illegitimate. But now, rather than admitting that they went too far, they're eager to pounce on anything that would justify their previous hysteria.

So rather than support him and the plethora of truly conservative policies he wants to implement. And rather than join him in seeing victory after victory over the left and the MSM (but I repeat myself), the Nevertrumpers are hoping to see him fail. Not for the good of the country, not for the good of the conservative cause, but just to save face.

There are some excellent people among the Nevertrumpers. But I'm finding that they're becoming petty and self-serving.

We have a chance to see untold damage done to the left and untold good done for the country. Please ... stop trying to prove you were right and join the greatest deconstruction of the left that we've seen.

Good thing Obama isn't at all hypocritical

Obama has warned Trump not to overuse executive orders.

Think about that.

Obama say that. Barack Obama.

And in his typical rewriting of history, Obama claims that his preferred course of action was to work with Congress instead of using executive orders.

The meaningless popular vote

Liberals are whining about how Hillary should be president because she won the popular vote. To them, the pesky Electoral College has robbed them of victory.

This is nonsense for many reasons, including:

1. It's typical liberal hypocrisy. If the situation were reversed, they'd be screaming that the Electoral College is the law and it's essentially treason to question it.

2. The Electoral College IS the law.

3. It's also hypocritical because in the days leading up to the election, they ridiculed and savaged Trump for theoretically not happily accepting the results of the election.

4. People keep talking like the Electoral College system has failed because it has yielded a different result than the popular vote would have. But this is misguided. The Electoral College isn't designed to necessarily yield the same result as the popular vote. Surely this is obvious. Nobody would concoct a complicated system to yield the same result as the popular vote. They'd just use the popular vote.

5. The Electoral College wasn't created merely to facilitate voting in a society with eighteenth century technology. Much like the Senate and the House, it was created to provide a balance between power for the people and power for the states (which is why each state gets a number of Electoral College votes equal to its number of senators plus its number of representatives). It exists to prevent a handful of population centres from determining the results of every presidential election.

6. Hillary and Trump knew the rules going in. They knew you had to win the Electoral College. And they campaigned accordingly. Saying now that "I would have won if the rules were different!" is utterly irrelevant. Anyone can dream up a new set of rules that would have made them win. Yawn.

7. But even if we accept the thought experiment that the winner of the popular vote should be president, how can liberals claim that Hillary would automatically have won? Under that system, both Hillary and Trump would have campaigned differently. We really have no idea how that would have played out. The liberal position is a fantasy where the rules are new but Trump (and only Trump) is constrained to play exactly as if the old rules were in effect.

8. A second reason it's unfair to say that Hillary would automatically have won the popular vote under these new rules is that not only would candidate behaviour be different if the popular vote system were in place, voter behaviour would be different, too. How many conservatives didn't bother voting in California because they knew their vote was irrelevant? But under the popular vote system, their vote would count. I realize that the reverse argument could be made in conservative states, but that doesn't cancel this concern. California's huge population (and New York's, etc.) skews things in the liberals' favour. There are vastly more disheartened conservative voters in California than disheartened liberal voters in Kansas. You might have counter arguments, but the point is that we can't say that if the popular vote system were in place, voters would be guaranteed to behave the same way as they do now.

The moral is: liberals are hypocritical sore losers who need to grow up.

One trick Nazi ponies

The Left is unable to win arguments based on a discussion of the facts, which is why their sole weapon is ad hominem attacks. But they're not even good at that. They only have one version of their one weapon: all-out hysterical panic. Very few of them are capable of calm disagreement. As soon as they run across a conservative, they immediately bypass all intermediate levels of disagreement and jump right to "YOU'RE HITLER! Now I need to go hide in a safe zone and cry and get aroma therapy!" Their textbook is

In the aftermath of the destruction of the Democratic party that was the 2016 election, a (very) few leftists temporarily seemed to grasp that their Hitler strategy wasn't working now that most of America has seen the MSM for the leftist shills that they are.

But it's good to see that this epiphany lasted about three days. Then Trump appointed Bannon and "BANNON IS A NAZI!!!!!!" 

And just to prove that the REALLY have learned nothing at all ... HOWARD DEAN? Really?!

"No, no ... thanks Barack. No need to endorse me."

Obama has the reverse Midas touch. Oh sure, he's good at getting things for himself. But that's about it. Just to list a few examples:

• Securing the Olympics for Chicago - failed
• Campaigning for various other Democrats in 2012 - failed so consistently that various Democrats refused to let him come campaign for them
• Led the Dems to devastating congressional and state losses in 2010 
• Led the Dems to devastating congressional and state losses in 2014
• Worked against Netanyahu's re-election - failed
• Spoke out against Brexit - failed
• Campaigned for Hillary - failed
• Led the Dems to devastating congressional and state losses in 2016. This one was especially impressive. The Republicans now control the White House and both houses of Congress. Furthermore, they have a record number of state legislatures. Oh, and two-thirds of the governorships. YAY BARACK!!

Now he has stuck his nose in Germany's politics (because being the narcissist he is, he's always confident that what everyone wants is to get his opinion) to endorse Merkel. If she has any sense (which is questionable, given her work to devastate Germany via immigration), I'm guessing Obama's endorsement didn't make her optimistic about her chances of re-election.

Thank Hillary for the guns

I've read several times now that the U.S. has had month after month of record gun sales as people fear that Obama's (and Hillary's) war on the second amendment will make it hard/impossible for them to buy guns.

Now that the anti-Constitution party lost the election, I guess the end result is that we have Obama and Hillary to thank for a massive increase in the amount of guns in the country. In their war against the second amendment, the second amendment won.

We should point this out to liberals as often as possible.

The hypocrisy and hate of the left

Riots. Vandalism. Assaults. Calls to assassinate Trump or rape his wife. All of this from people who simultaneously and sanctimoniously claim that they're loving and it's the Republicans who are haters. Only the left would engage in such behaviour on this scale and only the left would have the nerve to be so hypocritical.

And the media gives them a pass.

If mobs had taken to the streets after Obama's election in 2008 with similar behaviour and threats against him and Michelle, does anyone think the media would have given them a pass? The MSM would have (rightly) denounced it 24/7. But when such behaviour is directed at Republicans, the MSM is complicitly silent.

The only bright side is that, as already mentioned, the MSM and Dems (but I repeat myself) have decided to double-down on the despicable tactics that lost them this election.

Still waiting...

The sanctimonious MSM is quick to press Trump to denounce every person or group who says or does something inappropriate in his name (even though most of those people are Dem or MSM plants attempting to make Trump look bad), but you'll notice that they don't demand Obama or Hillary do the same.

With leftist supporters rioting all over the country, I've yet to hear one voice from the MSM call upon Obama or Hillary to denounce these miscreants or to even urge them to stop their vandalism.

Teach them everything or nothing

In the immediate aftermath of the election, some of the shell-shocked and disheartened MSM actually seemed like they were beginning to break out of their liberal bubble and learn a bit about reality. "Maybe we shouldn't call every Republican Hitler."

Then Steve Bannon was appointed as one of Trump's key advisors (honestly, how insane would it be to ditch the guy who helped you win the election?) and their immediate response was, "Bannon is Hitler!!!!"

A lot of my friends were irritated by the MSM's refusal to learn from their mistakes. But here's the thing: WE DON'T WANT THEM TO LEARN. Seriously. What football team wants the opposing football team to learn and improve? What army wants the opposing army to learn and improve? Do you think any police are irritated that criminals aren't getting smarter?

Unless the MSM has a complete epiphany and rejects all their liberal obsessions, we don't want them to learn. We want them to double-down on the ignorant hubris that cost them this election.

Campaign error

Nobody runs a perfect campaign. However, Trump missed one golden opportunity. When the various music and movie stars were threatening (promising) to leave the country should Trump win, he ought to have had his lawyers drawn up contracts for them to sign, held up those contracts at his rallies, and said, "We all hate broken campaign promises. So I want you to sign these so that we can be sure you really will leave once I win."

Full speed ahead

There are a lot of reasons why Trump and the Republicans should tackle as many tasks as possible as soon as possible. Preferably on the afternoon of January 20.

1. Reagan, Clinton, and Bush all knew how to lead. They were able to work with the other party and actually form consensus on a variety of issues. As a result, their accomplishments survived the next administration - both because the accomplishments were passed by Congress and because the other party had invested in them. Obama, on the other hand, was incapable of leading except by thuggery and deceit. As a result, he got virtually nothing through Congress and what he did get through, had no investment from Republicans. So it can almost all be wiped away with the stroke of a pen on day one. (Trump has a pen and a phone, too.) Time and energy required: essentially zero. Ability for the Democrats to interfere: zero.
2. The people have been demanding sweeping changes for several election cycles and more or less loathe Congress for not delivering. At last, the people can have their way. There's no excuse. Failure to do so is a betrayal of the American people.
3. We all know this is exactly what the Democrats would do, if they could. (They'll shriek like babies when the Republicans do it because hypocrisy is the core of who they are.)
4. Regarding any reforms that are unpopular, the sooner you enact them, the more time people have to get over them.
5. A great many of the reforms will take years to produce effects that people feel. For instance, repealing all the hysterical roadblocks Obama constructed to obstruct energy development is an excellent idea. But energy prices won't drop the day after these restrictions are lifted. Lift the restrictions immediately so that two years from now when the midterms come, people have begun to harvest the benefits.
6. The Democrats and the MSM (but I repeat myself) are not going to give Trump and the Republicans a break in any circumstance. So "playing nice" in the hopes of good will in return is insane. Please name one time in the last 20 years when good will gestures from Republicans were met with anything other than vilification and betrayal by the Democrats and MSM. We would love to have a good will relationship with the Democrats. But we don't - by their choice. So don't be Neville Chamberlain.
7. Last, but certainly not least, Republicans know that the reforms they want to enact are for the good of the country. (This is in stark contrast to the Democrats, by the way. Unfettered illegal immigration - the hallmark of the Dems - is entirely for the purpose of serving the Dems (by getting them elected permanently), not for the purpose of serving the country.) Given that they're for the good of the country, it's a moral obligation to enact these changes as quickly as possible.

How Republicans can win the election

This isn't rocket science. As Bill Whittle pointed out in 2012, Republicans have managed to do everything wrong in their campaigning and the Democrats do everything right. Furthermore, the Democrats have the media doing their bidding full-tilt 24/7. and yet it's still a 50/50 country. So how little do Republicans have to do to win?

A few simple thoughts.

1. Pretty much 100% of the polls in every election say that the primary concern of the public is the economy. So any campaign that doesn't focus on the economy is fighting an uphill (and unnecessary) battle. That isn't to say you shouldn't talk about other matters. But make sure the economy is clearly a major (THE major?) point of your campaign.
   
2. The other point that consistently resonates with Americans? Distrust and dislike of the government. Ronald Reagan tapped into this and won two landslides. Focus on reducing government, reigning in government, and letting Americans know you're on their side, not on the side of power-hungry government bureaucrats who want to control their lives. (This also means ditching big-government Republicans because they're only marginally better than Democrats in theory and no better than Democrats in practice.)
   
3. Stay on message. The media will always want to divert you from points 1 and 2 because they know Republicans will win on points 1 and 2. Sure the Democrats have so much wrong with them that they present 1000 targets. But don't get distracted.
   
4. Fight back. Stop acting like the media has any honesty, integrity, or objectivity. Stop acting in good faith towards the media - they only want to destroy you because you're a Republican. Mitt Romney is an excellent man but he was naive when dealing with the media and they savaged him. Donald Trump may be a bit crazy, but he fights back and two good things come from this: the media doesn't know how to cope with him because they're used to Republicans rolling over and playing dead, and the public loves it. (I think that subconsciously, even the liberal public wants to see the self-righteous, self-impressed media get put in its place.) Trump, of course, goes too far and makes obnoxious, pointless, and often untrue statements about decent people. Carly Fiorina is an excellent example of doing this right. She doesn't let the media away with anything.

 Just look at the Republican field vs. the Democrat field. The Republicans are overflowing with people who would be excellent presidents. The Democrats can only put forward three ancient socialists with no accomplishments that aren't political. Zzzzz. This election should be a cake-walk for Republicans and yet they stand an excellent chance of losing because they ignore the four points listed above.

I keep reading people talking about how, in the wake of his crushing election defeat, Obama has made the shocking decision to tack left. 

In what world is this shocking?

Obama is a flaming liberal. He's always been a flaming liberal. How is it surprising that now that he has faced his last election, he no longer feels the need to deceive moderates into voting for him?

(Yes, I realize that Obama's name wasn't on any ballot in this election. But as he said himself, this election was about him and his policies.)

Also, the overwhelming proof of Obama's extreme liberal views has been readily available to anyone who cared to look since long before he ran for president. Anyone who is surprised by how liberal he is is clueless ... willfully or otherwise.
