Iraq and Liberia

More liberal hypocrisy. Every liberal on earth whined about the U.S. going to war in Iraq. The attrocities, threats to the region, efforts to obtain WMD's, etc. were all supposedly insufficient grounds for an invasion. But now the left-wing crowd is criticizing Bush for not invading Liberia, even though there's far less justification that with Iraq.

As Mark Steyn writes in The Spectator: "The New York Times is itching to get in: ‘Three weeks have passed since President Bush called on the Liberian President, Charles Taylor, to step aside, and pledged American assistance in restoring security. But there has been no definitive word here on how or when.' ... Three weeks! And Bush is still just talking! The Times spent 14 months deploring the ‘rush to war’ in Iraq, but mulling over Liberia for three weeks is the worst kind of irresponsible dithering."

Don't get me wrong ... I'm all for getting rid of Taylor and ending the atrocities. It's just that this illustrates the hypocrisy and disingenuity of the left-wingers (Democrats, Liberals, Kofi Annan, France, Germany, etc.). Either they care not a whit for the people that were being tortured and murdered in Iraq, or they care not a whit for the people being tortured and murdered anywhere - except to the degree that they can use those same people in fabricating criticisms of Bush.

And so it begins

On the off chance that anyone ever finds this blog, here's the deal. I needed a name for my blog. And I needed it quickly because BlogSpot asked me for a name and I didn't have a week to decide. And it had to be a good name. Okay, well, it had to be not an incredibly bad name. So I'm thinking, "Must ... get ... blog ... name" at which point my eyes fall on the cartoon about Occam's Razor that I have posted on my bulletin board in front of me. I've always loved Occam's Razor. I mean, I love the concept. But mostly I love the name. It has the word "razor" in it, so already you're winning. Hence my blog name. So welcome to The Razor. Occam's Razor ... applied to life.
